Grab The Wagon

Good grief, it’s been a while. I fell off the writing wagon amongst the craziness of the Spring season and now it’s time to grab hold of the damn thing and death grip it while I attempt wriggle my body back on board!

While I pull myself up, let’s chat! How’s living? Good? Good! I’ve been up to some stuff over the past few weeks. You curious? I’ll take your silence as complacent agreement.

--I’ve been traveling all over the East Coast like a boss recently. Two weeks ago, I was in Boston throwing a bridal shower/bachelorette party double feature for my sister. The shower was lovely, and I crafted these little homemade hand scrubs as favors because I am both thrifty and into making my own stuff.

Dead Sea Salt Goodness.

After the shower, I had arranged for the bridal party and some of my sister’s friends to head to a drag queen show. It. Was. So. Fabulous. Those ladies both know how to WORK it, and are more attractive than I have ever been or ever will be. They are also incredibly athletic and just….uh….just….fabulous. I highly recommend it, especially as they like to pull brides-to-be up on stage and make them twerk.

This photo will be worth it's weight in blackmail in 40 years.

--Speaking of travel, the following weekend, I headed down to New Jersey to celebrate Passover with le boyfriend and his family. I’m so into Passover. It’s got everything I love in life—amazing people, amazing food…time to catch up with said amazing people, time to binge on said amazing food…engaging conversation about culture, history, and ethics; engaging your digestive track to process amazing food…I’m very food motivated.

--I have a freaky thing going on with my right eye. My pupil looks totally irregular, almost like a teardrop. After discovering this a few months ago, convincing myself I was going to die of a brain tumor, and working my way through two doctors who had NO idea what was wrong with me, I went up to a specialist three weeks ago. Several hours of testing later, and that guy ALSO had no idea what is wrong with me. What they do know is that everything appears to be benign—read: no cysts, tumors, etc. Phew! And since I prefer an explanation for everything, I’ve basically got my mind made up that this is simply the start of my development of superpowers. My x-ray vision should be in full effect momentarily.

--Ants have been popping up all over my house recently. You would think my cat would be of help on this particular issue. Nope. She thinks all ants are her best friends, and she just follows them around to ensure their safe passage WHEREVER they feel like travelling in the house. I’m starting to wonder if Hatch is vegan…

This-a-way, Mr. Ant! Stand clear of my closing jaws!

--I went into NYC on Friday and had the most expensive meal of my life (no exaggeration) at a fancy steak house. I had a filet mignon with roquefort cheese hugging every inch of that steak. It was pretty tasty. Glad to say I did it for the experience, sad to part ways with some of my tax return. And then I ate dessert. All of the desserts.

--And working out, you ask? Well, despite the incessant traveling and eating, I’ve managed to keep myself on track with my training. In the time since my last post, I have finished both Beta and Gamma phases of T25. In fact, I did my last Gamma workout this morning, and I’ve been fretting about what to do next. I’ve literally exhausted my T25 options in terms of new material, so I’ll need to either get creative or repeat calendars. Good thing I have a couple days to make up my mind. But more on all that later.

So anywho, it’s been a busy month, but all good things! It’s been a fun ride, though I’ve come out the other side a little fatigued, bloated, and ready to park my body in one area code for at least a week. Hopefully I’ll get a chance at that in the coming days, and be back in touch with more life ramblings a little more frequently than on a monthly basis!

Here’s hoping your Easter Sunday was full of good people and food, if you celebrated! And if you didn’t, well, I still hope your day was full of good people and food!
Until next time!

Totally asleep.
